High School Music Teacher | Full-Time

Chesterton Academy of Fort Worth, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, seeks talented and dynamic full-time Music/Choral teachers to join our team starting in the 2023-24 academic year. Part-time options may also be available.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Choral Music or other music-related disciplines is preferred, with previous experience teaching the same. Specifically, the candidate must be well versed in Gregorian Chant and the Solfege system and demonstrate his or her ability to teach it to complete beginners. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to teach polyphonic choral singing. The candidate will be tasked, in addition to regular Music/Choir classes in the curriculum, with training the students to chant/sing at Mass and for various concerts throughout the academic year.

Three to five years of teaching experience is preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education. It is no understatement to say that the Music teacher will become the soul of the academy.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise. 

In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at the Chesterton Academy of Fort Worth participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body, and assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities.
